treat these behaviours in younger individuals, but in the elderly, the side effects can be

detrimental. Studies have shown that alternative methods such as sensory therapy can reduce

the need for strong medications and improve their wellbeing.

For persons with dementia their world can often very tense so a calming relaxing room would be an ideal place to be.

for the aged are stimulating and relaxing safe environments, that help to enhance sensory impairment with aroma smells, soft relaxing music and lighting, tactile touch with interactive bubble tubes and other specialised equipment Ideal for bahaviour problems. These therepy rooms have be designed through research by Sensory UK with the help of medical professionals.  

Unfortunately in most care homes there isn’t always a spare room to install such relaxing equipment so many people lose out. Sensory UK have developed a solution to this problem where there is room to build a modulor or sensory pod.
